Thanks All Around
Last year in this column, I talked about all I was thankful for within the Madisonville Elementary community. Seems like a good
thing to do again…
- The MESPTA wishes to thank the families that donated their time, effort and plants as part of our Fall Beautification Drive.
The campus is ready for the cooler weather and looks great!
- We also want to thank everyone for their help with the “PTA Membership Regatta” and meeting our membership goals this year!
- Our Fall Fundraiser was a great success once again! Thank you, all, for your help. All proceeds go toward supporting our fantastic school.
- Fantastic is the right word! Madisonville Elementary scored 125.5 on state performance criteria. That makes us a top-5
school in St. Tammany and top-15 in the metropolitan area! We are fortunate to have the administration, staff and teachers we
have here at MES.
- Finally, work has begun on our newest Madisonville-area school, Lancaster Elementary. The target opening date is targeted for the 2011-2012 school year.
I’d also like to take a moment to thank each and every one of you, parents, grandparents and caretakers of our children, who
spend every afternoon working with them on homework, or perfecting that fastball, or building that tree house, or baking that pie,
or teaching them kindness toward one another. You all help make this school, this community, this country to be a better place.
Hey, did you know the Hornets regular season is starting (and how about those Saints!)? Did you know MESPTA will again have
tickets for the Hornets MLK Day game in January? Look for more information coming home soon. The 3rd Graders will be putting on
their annual Veterans Day program this month and the Thanksgiving holiday rounds out the month. MESPTA will also host a “S’mores &
Hot Chocolate Night” in early December (details coming home soon). Have a great Thanksgiving holiday!
