I Want You!
Have I ever told you how much I love this job? There’s nothing like hearing “Hey, Mr. Shane!” when I’m on campus. High-fives
and hugs are in abundance. The look on the faces of the kids when they see you will make your day. I feel fortunate to have had
the opportunity to work with Mrs. Spencer and Mrs. Stephens and all the teachers, custodians, office staff, para-professionals and
cafeteria workers at Madisonville Elementary, to know them as more than just name or a face. I’ve met and worked with some terrific
parents who give their valuable time to our children. And I’ve made some great friends. It’s an experience I wish everyone would
share.
PTA Executive Board elections are coming up in April. All positions on the Executive Board (secretary, treasurer, vice-president
and president) are open for nominations. And many committee positions are available as well.
You should be in that number! Our PTA thrives on the diversity of ideas and the people that bring them in. Look for our
nomination form soon. Nominate yourself or someone you think would be interested in serving the school and our children. You’ve
heard me talk about the programs the PTA sponsors throughout the year, the things we do to make MES the wonderful place that it is.
Everyone serving on the board was just like you at one time, looking for a way to help. Stop a board member at school, give us a
call, send an email and ask us what we do. Then, come join us.
Many thanks to everyone for your help with the Spring fundraiser. If you haven’t returned your sales proceeds, please do so as
soon as you can. In March, Pre-K & Kindergarten will have Art Day, Kindergarten will also have vision & hearing screenings and
we’ll round out the month with Easter parties and Spring Break! There’s also Mrs. W’s book fair and the spring plant drive at the
end of the month.
