Thankfulness All Around
Where do I begin? November is the month where we give thanks for what we have, for the people and blessings in our lives, just for still being here and making it another day. I’m thankful for my wife, children and extended family. Thankful for the wonderful school my children go to and the teachers, administrators and staff that make it so. I’m thankful for our terrific volunteers, without whom our programs like Science, Art and Field Days and Art Parents wouldn’t happen (and those pencils wouldn’t get sharpened).
I’d also like to take a moment to thank each and every one of you, parents, grandparents and caretakers of our children, who spend every afternoon working with them on homework, or perfecting that fastball, or building that tree house, or baking that pie, or teaching them kindness toward one another. You all help make this school, this community, this country to be a better place.
Thanks very much to everyone that helped us reach our goals for the Fall Fundraiser. In particular, thanks to Bonnie Blanchard and Scott Schafer, who gave or are giving their time and effort to rebuild the deck around the school’s gazebo. Mr. Schafer is donating his labor and expertise to the project, and Ms. Blanchard pounded the pavement to get the money and materials to make it happen. In addition, Robert Thompson has undertaken the monumental task of repainting the school’s bathrooms and gym. How did we get so fortunate?
Hey, did you know the Hornets regular season is starting? Did you know MES PTA will have 100 tickets for the Hornets vs. Pacers game in January? Look for more information coming home soon. The 3rd Graders will be putting on their annual Veterans Day program this month and Kindergarteners will have their Pow-Wow as well. Don’t forget to vote November 4 (no school that day) and have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
